In reference to Kirby Ferguson's video, I actually disagree with him. He talks about how there are 4 stages in getting an idea. However, I don't think so. In my perspective, I feel that an idea just comes to a person out of the blue, and it would stick with them and most of the time, the idea does not need to be processed or re-thinked. This is what usually happens to me when I get an idea.
Most of the time, my idea does not come fully formed. It comes as a sudden thought and I would build up on it. Then, I would imagine how I would like the end piece to represent or convey. When I'm given a topic or theme, my mind just scrambles and would get lost, but then an epiphany comes and it would just stick to me. I would then develop that idea, but never really change the main meaning of it. |
